CC Pro and bowl bits - just checking

After using CCv6 free for a year ( I reckon the easiest/most intuitive CAD/CAM entry for a beginner CNC’er)
I’ve plunked for v7 Pro - Ramping, REST and some interesting 3D facilities, etc etc.

One disappointment (but not a show-stopper for buying Pro) is v7 not supporting bowl bits in simulation (or of course REST).
I’m a touch surprised - Ball bits are handled, so as a programmer I would have thought that would involve much of the calculation required.
And surely a large portion of the audience spit out a tray now and then using bowl bits…

I can’t see any mention in the available snippets about v8,
so are there any plans to introduce support in the forseeable future?

In the meantime - just faking a 19mm or 3/4" bowl bit with a 19mm endmill, plus imagination.
(I thought I could approximate it with a Bull-end, using a large ‘cornerradius’ in the toolbit CSV - but it still comes out as a plain square endmill)

Correct, in current versions, bowl bits (where defined as tools with a corner radius and a flat bottom) are not supported.

As noted, the work-around is to enter them as large ball-nose tools which gets one an approximate preview.

I have moved your post to the Feature Request area for Carbide Create — we’ll have to see what happens in future versions.
