Changing router bit on VFD setup

I unplug my router before changing bits, but with Carbide 3D VFD and using advance v carve how do I disconnect power without erasing toolpath? What is safe way of changing tool bits for VFD?

The VFD has an override button on the front that prevents the spindle from receiving power. This should always be used alongside machine code that sets the spindle to off.

Is this clear?

Thanks for clarifying my confusion. I always like to unplug equipment before tool change.
