CNC Epoxy Cribbage Board Issues

I’ve recently bought a table top Genmitsu 4040 Reno to do some cribbage boards and other engraving projects. I had been doing my cribbage boards using another higher end CNC but now I’m running into troubles with the current plans on my new machine. I was able to do the lines and peg holes without issue but when I tried doing the storage pocket the bit caught the epoxy and was pulled into the board. My spindle does a max of 10000 rpms. The program requests 18000 rpms (I used 10000), feed rate of 60, plunge rate at 12,depth per pass at 0.04 and a stepover of 0.125. I used a 1/4" flat cutter, 2 flutes. Can anyone suggest speeds and feed rates based on my spindle power of 10000? Or do I need to upgrade my spindle to get the higher RPMs? I also dropped the speed and feed quite dramatically and it did get further in the process but ended up doing the same thing. Thanks in advance!

Probably not your feeds and speeds, more likely a mechanical issue with the machine or slipping collet.

I think you nailed it. Looked at the collet and I’m using metric instead of imperial. I’ll try the 1/4 collet this time and see if it helps. Thanks a bunch!
