I have three STL files that I’d like to be able to use in VCarve Pro. Unfortunately VCarve only allows me to import one STL at a time. Is there some software (preferably free) that would allow me to import all three STL’s and either do my project all in there or bring in all three and then export them as one STL for use in VCarve?
While I have never used it (so far, but I want to), it seems like MeshMixer can do this (and much, much more) and it’s free.
Random YT video from a guy merging STLs using MeshMixer:
Then Fusion360 comes to mind (as it can import and export STLs), but that may be feel like using an Abrams tank to swat a Fly if it’s just to merge meshes. Now if you start using Fusion360 for CAM, that’s another story and it would then make a lot of sense.
I’ve done this with Blender and then exported the result from Blender as a single STL file into V-carve and it worked fine. Blender is free too and can do a whole lot more
