I have a SO3 and if I want a surfaced waste board does it have to be smaller that the size of the cutting area? How would I surface something bigger (like the entire table top)?
Short answer is yes it has to be smaller than the cutting area. The long answer is in a document I posted here on the forum about making an optimized spoilboard for the SO3.
If our spoilboard is larger than the cutting area you will have a ridge on up 3 of the sides of the spoilboard. That is not a problem unless you want to do tiling. If doing tiling our board would not sit flat on the spoilboard and could cause issues with the machining.
