Connect Probe to Shapeoko 3 xxl

Greetings Shapeoko Friends,

I recently acquired a touch probe that I thought would work with my Shapeoko 3 xxl. It’s a generic $144 probe from cnc4pc.

I thought that because it had a 3 wire audio cable it would work with the shapeoko like other probes. Unfortunately its pinout is a little different.

There are two light in the probe, green and red.

The three wires are labeled Ground, Probe Pin, and Collision Detection. When I connect the the Bitzero wires to the probe: 5 volts to the collision detection, ground to ground, and probe to probe, I experience the following:

  1. None of the lights are in by default.

  2. If I touch the probe to move the needle, the green light turns on.

  3. it I move the needle too far, the red light comes on.

I do not see any probe state differences in the software I’m using - bcnc.

Thoughts on how to get this probe working with shapeoko 3?
