Controlling a Solenoid Valve Through Fusion 360

Hello Everyone,

I have a Shapeoko 3 XXL and want to control a solenoid valve using the control board and Fusion 360. Does anyone have experience with this? Ultimately, I want to control turning an airbrush on and off. What is the wiring required from the control board, and what functions/settings in Fusion would be best to use? Any help would be appreciated, especially on the control board side. Thanks.

The Grbl folks should have the underlying concepts/capabilities written up for this:

But, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t believe the Carbide folks designed their motion controller to have that capability. We can only control the spindle.

Correct, but pins are pins, and the software doesn’t know what’s connected to them, so various things are possible (but unsupported)

Thanks for your reply. So would I be right in that I can hook the PWM on the control board to a relay that hooks into my solenoid? I could then use either spindle speed or spindle state commands in Fusion to turn the solenoid on/off?
