I have just switched from using a Windows 11 tablet to a Windows 10 computer with a touchscreen monitor. There is no problem initializing the machine, and no problem with machine movement. When I load a job file, even ones that I ran on the Tablet, they load to 99% and then crashes the program. I have reloaded Carbide Motion, and rebooted the computer numerous times. I am wondering if the is a conflict between the touch screen monitor and Carbide Motion.
A touchscreen is “just” an input device — note that Windows 10 will be EOL 14 October 2025, not much more than a year from now — try booting into Windows Safe Mode (which should not load the touchscreen driver)?
I am aware of the Windows 10 deadline. This was just an older computer laying around. The touchscreen is a driverless monitor that is used by point of sale computers. I will try to boot up in safe mode and give that a try. Thanks for the quick response
I am having this issue of job loading crash. I just set up a new windows computer for my Shapeoko 4 Pro and installed Motion 640 and it crashes loading any g-code, new or old files, that worked on previous computers and the same machine.
I had a similar issue. I updated my post processor (Fusion 360), and reinstalled carbide motion. Not sure which fixed it.
I’ll reinstall Motion and see. I am using Aspire’s post processor which I haven’t used before on this version of Motion, the last time I updated motion on my previous machine was a year or so ago.
Are you getting a BugSplat popup when there’s a crash? If so, are you sending the report in?
Yep! I’ve sent one in each time. the email i attached was topsidepost at gmail
I see them now. The data appears to be corrupted so we were not getting notifications of the report. We’l have to do a new build and upload it again to ensure the debug information is correct.
Sounds good, I’m more than happy to resubmit when a new build is live!
Update. It was a motherboard driver issue and nothing to do with Carbide Motion.
Thankjs
