Creating a project from a photograph

Given a photograph:

we launch Carbide Create:

and use Trace Image:

adjusting the Threshold Slider until we arrive at a reasonable result:

Increase the stock size a bit, or slightly reduce the design and then center things:

Scale

Done

Align Vectors

Center the selection on the Stock:

Draw in a surrounding rectangle:

Select everything:

and do an Advanced V carving:

using the Current Selection:

Naturally, better results could be achieved with a higher resolution, better contrasting photo, or by re-drawing the entire photograph.
