Creating a surfacing toolpath in Carbide Create

First, do Job Setup:

If one has a Pro license, then just draw a rectangle:

and assign a Facing toolpath:

If one does not have Pro, then draw a Polyline which describes one pass:

Done

Then use a Linear Array:

to make a suitable number of copies spaced as desired:

If things don’t quite line up, no huhu, easily fixed.

Then go into Node Edit mode:

select the extraneous node:

Scale

and adjust as necessary:

and reposition:

and assign a No Offset Contour toolpath using a suitable tool:

With CC Pro one could also offset the geometry by slight over half the diameter of the bit you are using to face with. Then apply the Facing Toolpath to the offset. That allows the tool to lead in to the cut rather than plunge down on to the work piece. That works really well for odd shaped pieces you want to face off.
