Can someone please look at this file. I have .125" set as the retract height but when drilling the holes the router retracts about 1.5" instead of the .125. I have reset the retract and saved the file but it still retracts very high.
In your file you have z zero set at bottom of stock. Any chance you set on z zero top on top of stock when you set z in CM?
The simulation shows a big retract value. What ever test/fix you find should show there.
Do all Drill operations do the same ?
I can’t replicate it on a new file. Simulation shows as expected.
On your file any new Drill operation does the thing.
The other operations are fine.
This file should go to the support folks.
Retract is relative to where the origin is set.
EDIT: as was pointed out to me in support, retract should be set relative to the surface of the stock so as to ensure consistent/safe behaviour when changing that parameter.
Looking into this now and trying to create a minimal example for a bug report.
The file cut just fine but seems strange that the retract was so high when in setup it was set to .125". The stock thickness was set and I did use bottom of material for Z. That is because I cut out the cribbage board from a bigger piece of stock. Just seemed strange. I almost always use bottom of stock on cut through projects. I will send it to support.
The above picture is with 1 coat of clear Watco Danish Oil. I think the wood is sycamore with some spalting. It was just in a pile of wood around the shop and was big enough after jointing and planning. The material was almost 1.0".
I think the project turned out good. I had cut the same file earlier but with a storage case for the cards and pegs. That made the project rather big.
I just removed the tool paths for the card recess and cover and saved the file with a different name and material size.
