I’m new to CNC, and I’m also new to using forums. I am having a problem with getting true measurements to cut. For example, I draw a simple figure that has a X axis measurement of 7 inches, and a Y axis of 1 inch. The actual cut turns out to be X-axis 5.25" and Y-axis 0.75". I have checked scaling and the figure in scaling is 1.00. Any input would be greatly appreciated - Thanks.
What sort of toolpath are you applying?
What you would describe would happen with an 0.25" tool cutting a No Offset Contour.

Hi Will,
I’m using the inside left contour path, with an engraving tip #501. My Z amount is 0.100, just to see what happens.
Oops, the inside toolpath.

We’ll do our best to look into this with you.
That actually shows a factor of .75 in each direction (7 * .75 = 5.25 and 1 * .75 = .75) so somewhere there is a hidden scaling going on…
Firsst - thanks for spending time with me. What I did was I went to no offset, and it cut the pattern perfectly to size. I had a pattern that came to a very acute angle on the right. My thought is that the inside path seems to have shrunk the design.
