Cut out text with a rounded bottom

I’m creating a sign by cutting text out using the Pocket Toolpath setting, but I’d like the cut to be rounded on the bottom and sides. Is this something I set in Aspire, or do I need a special bit?

Any help is appreciated.

A ball-nosed would do this, but might leave odd strips, depending on what you have step-over set to:

I’m using aspire. But for the carving I am using a ball nosed bit. The cut has straight sides and flat bottom. What I really want is for the cut to curve down like a river bed, or ice cream scooped out.

That would need a larger ball-nose (set depth-of cut to be slightly greater than the radius) or modeling in 3D in Carbide Create Pro or some similar tool — Aspire should be able to do it, in Carbide Create Pro:

I found a 1/2" ball nose that does what I wanted, but I still would like to get a smaller bit to remove the wood with a rounded bottom. (not a flat bottom with rounded edges, but a truly rounded bottom)

A #202 ball-nosed endmill?
