Hello everyone. question I’m going to try to cut out a small item ( 9” circle ) I would like to cut 6 pieces out of one piece of wood. So the question is can I do this or do I have to cut them out one at a time.
It should work to set up the toolpaths for one, then duplicate or copy-paste it 8 times — you’ll need to consider workholding/tabs, but it should work.
If you have difficulty, post the file here or to support@carbide3d.com
Should be no problem if you have the work pieces set up on the part size. Take into consideration bit size and tabs. Parts flying across the shop is an issue. As Will said, Tabs!
thank for the advice ill give it a try and let you know how it goes thanks again
AS @WillAdams said you can duplicate or just select all items with the same tool and create a tool path. The circles will be cut one at a time but will cut all the circles in the same job.
If you want to duplicate the same job on different pieces of wood that are all alike then set up the first one, cut it, remove it and place the next piece of material on the spoil board and just hit run. You will be prompted to place the tool and the BitSetter will be used each time you start but that is ok.
The key to doing multiple repetitive jobs is about basic woodworking skills. You have to have flat and square material to work with consistent thickness. Wood from the big box stores is relatively flat but is never perfect.
