Cutting path is wildly off in the middle of a process

About an hour or so into the cutting the machine plunges about ~1/4" off the correct path. There’s no meaningful amount of debris on the screws and the ball mill is securely tightened. Help!

If the machine is mechanically sound and well-lubricated and all wiring is in good condition and secure, things to check are:

  • mechanical interference — could a hose or wire have gotten snagged or in the way?
  • feeds and speeds/tooling engagement — usually a slotting cut is a culprit, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here — upload your file?

Nothing seems to be amiss with the cables. I suppose the vacuum tube could’ve gotten pinched and thrown the machine off.
