Dac retainer unscrewed

I’ve had my Shapeoko 5pro for a few years, great machine.

During a recent project while changing out a bit I noticed that the dac retainer(?) had come unscrewed. Fixes say to rethread the nut and use loctite to secure. However I cannot seem to get it to screw back in.

What am I doing wrong and how can I fix it? Thanks!
