I think I damaged the collet by over-tightening. It stopped “clicking” when I remove it. The nut / collet get noticeably warmer from cutting.
Is it possible to damage a collet / nut from over-tightening?
Does the lack of clicking indicate the collet / nut is damaged?
If either are damaged, could the end mill be slipping resulting in the warmer nut / collet?
