I want to machine some Half Hull wood models and i have determined i can use 2" thk Stock.
I will need long reach end mills which poses a couple of problems with z axis travel.
i will need at least 2" of end mill below the collet.
One way i was thinking was to raise the router vs sitting it directly on the router mount.
Any recommendations appreciated.

Raising the router on the new Z-axis plate affords a lot of flexibility for this sort of thing — the only drawback is the need to check the tram and the possibility it will require adjusting your dust collection setup.
