Default Focus to "Pause Button"

This may seem insignificant, but sometimes one might want to pause Motion quickly, and using the mouse to press the pause button is kind of slow.
So my suggestion is to after starting the job to have the FOCUS on the pause button. This way a simple press of the “ENTER” key would pause the machine. Might want to do this right after starting the job in case you noticed something wrong. This would be much, much faster than grabbing the mouse and positioning it over the pause button and pressing it.

Why not just use pause button on the E-Stop pennant if it’s needed. Perhaps my assumption it’s a S5Pro machine?

If it is an emergency stop, then the whole machine and job would need to be started over from initializing etc.
If it is just a quick fix, then pausing would let you resume from that point.

On the S5Pro, there is a “pause” button on the emergency stop pennant. Hit pause, select start on computer screen when ready to continue.

Not against your request, just stating the fact that if you pause you have to go to the computer screen as of now anyway. I’m not using my machine for production runs. Not having the mouse automatically hover the start button forces me to make one more conscious decision before continuing the operation. Gives me time to self check I’m really ready to continue.

Yeah, the pendent on the 5Pro does have the pause button on it and that comes in handy if you have the pendent close by on the beginning of the start of a program. There are other controllers one can buy that will give someone a chance for pausing. They also give a person control of the movements of the machine when jogging from point to point. I haven’t gotten one yet, but will sometime soon. I wish I could get my XBox One controller to work, but it seems like I struggle figuring that one out. I have the XBox controller designated to my computer and can use it on my computer, but I just can’t seem to get it to work on Carbide Motion.

I do not have a 5Pro.
The main point I am trying to make is that it is much faster to press the enter button than it is to fumble with grabbing the mouse and hovering it over the pause button and clicking.

I have a Bluetooth keyboard that I generally use.

I was posted this in the feature request that I assumed only went to development. But that is OK to get other opinions.

I understand, I was not trying to derail your thread. I agree with your use of the enter button. I have a pennant for jogging/setting Z height now, I had to I use the BT mouse on the spoil board prior and is was a pain. My monitor is setup temporarily and was not exactly at a good angle to move the machine and look at monitor for the next selection in CM.
