My Z axis moves very smooth when Ascending, but intermittently will seem to skip/drop a small amount when descending. I checked to make sure every things was tight and clean, also applied a small amount of silicon based lubricant to the threads and slides. The still issue persists, but does not seem to impact the actual depth of cut when running the machine. I searched for similar issues, but did not find any thing similar to this description.
Are the Z-axis motor wiring and connectors all in good condition and secure?
When was your machine made?
Every thing is tight, double checked wiring as well doing continuity checks. Bought the machine earlier this year.
Since I find screws on the table from time to time, my preflight check is to check all screws to ensure they are tight.
Could you post a video showing this happening and the matching .c2d file?
What material are you cutting when it happens? With what tool?
The silicone oil is ok but C3D recommends Mobil Vactra #2 oil. It is an old oil that machinists use on lathes and mills to lubricate moving surfaces. C3D sells small bottles with their maintenance kits.
