New to Carbide 3D and have a question on design. When I open Carbide Create to create a design, it will not save design size. After I put the workpiece size it and do design features, then save file, if I create a second design with a different workpiece size when I open the first project it will show workpiece size for the last project saved. Will not save workpiece size on prior saved projects. What am I missing. Thanks for any help
You will need to save a .c2d file and use that as a template.
I am saving my project in Carbide, it shows up as a .c2d format but the setup dimensions are changed when I open it again if I open any other project before I open the original one
I am running CC 815. I have been using CC for 6 years now. When I create a file and save it the next time I open a new file I get the previous dimensions of the last file created and saved. If you open Cc and go to the Help menu and About and then click on Open Data directory. Navigate to the Carbide Create folder and there is a file called “settings.ini” That file holds the parameters for the last file saved. If I open CC and create a new file my previous dimensions are already in Setup. I have to change them if my new project is different.
Here is part of my settings.ini file and the last project I saved was there.
I run in inches but under the covers of CC everything is in metric.
lastFileMM=false
lastWidth=203.2
lastHeight=152.39999999999998
lastThickness=20.2184
lastModelResolution=0
lastZeroX=101.6
lastZeroY=76.19999999999999
lastZeroZ=-20.2184
So save a file and then close CC and reopen. Go to the data directory and see if your last project was preserved. I am running a Windows 11 so not sure if the Mac version is different but likely not.
Thank you. I’ll give that a try
