Designing a shelf in 3D

Working a design from Facebook:

First set things up:

bottom left. 0.875 thickness down to 0.25 at the ends. 1/4 ball or flat EM.

Start by drawing a rectangle to extrude the stock (which needs to be twice as tall as desired, as does the stock size):

Draw in a rectangle which defines where we want the curve:

(it needs to be significantly taller than the stock area)

then double it in size horizontally and reposition it in alignment with the original:

then model it as a subtraction:

Repeat for the other side:

Then draw in geometry to subtract the extra:
