Did you see it in-person or online?
I checked my local Costco (NYC) and it’s showing as unavailable in-store and $99 to order.

Saw one on the floor at my Costco yesterday

Sorry, I live in Virginia.

And it was for that $69 price?

I believe it was $89.00

Home Depot has the yellow plastic 6 gallon model for $72, it was $69 when I got one a few months ago from a store in Florida. It’s connected to a Sweepy 2.0 through a Horrible Freight bucket top cyclone and pretty much nothing gets past it when the brush is adjusted and the vac is on. I’ve verified that failing to do either one will result in poorer results so you can skip that part

It was the metal version available at my local Napa, CA Costco

Be careful. The one at Home Depot is NOT the Stealth Sonic one.

Note that the smaller models do not have a 2.5" hose. Only the 12 and 16 gallon have 2.5". The other have 1 7/8"
They are currently listed at Lowes for $129 and $149 respectively.

I have never seen the metal one that they show at Costco before. It shows as an 8 gallon and the specs don’t indicate the hose diameter that I can tell.

My Costco still has them at $99.

$99 here in Chicago. reviews mention it has an odd sized hose. Listening to a utube, doesn’t sound too quiet. I have a older Rigid 16gal, with an extra hose. I either put the vacuum outside or at least run the exhaust to outside. I use a cyclone, filter bag, and fine filter, But if i exhaust into shop i notice dust. Not gonna by a hepa filter, so just exhaust it outside.

The Stealthsonic is so much less noisy than my Rigid vac’s there is no comparison. Don’t be fooled by a YT video on how much quieter it is.

Unless a YouTuber is using a calibrated sound recording setup that does not automatically adjust gain/compression for the mic, there’s no way a YouTube video can give you any actual comparison in relative acoustic noise levels in their video. If they used a sound meter at a fixed distance to compare the noise level from 2 different shopvacs would give a better indicator.

My Costco has several pallets of the 8 gal Dewalt Stealthsonic vacs stacked up. They must have got a good deal on them. I agree that they are quieter than any other shop vac I have owned. On the other hand, they are still loud. I try not to go near my CNC machine without hearing protection with the router and shop vac on. Here are some decibel readings from my shop at about 10 feet.

CNC router alone - 70 db
Dewalt Stealsonic alone - 72 db
Router and Dewalt Stealsonic both on - 76 db
My Grizzly larger dust collection vacuum - 87 db
My typical TV volume - 54 db

Mine has what Rigid calls SNR, (noise reduction) so it is a little quieter than standard and a lot quieter than my old craftsman.
And I know listening on a PC to Youtube isn’t a real test, but it can be an indication when compared to other noises and voice.

Downloaded an app and measured db, my 3xxl while carving and my rigid 6hp both measure pretty much the same values at 2ft from units.(76db) both running about 15ft from each other. Mostly in Bass frequencies 350hz, with spikes cutting grain about 2100hz

That’s not what it said on the box and the vac, at least the one I have. That doesn’t mean that HD didn’t use a different model this time. During the winter I’m limited to an infrequently used guestroom and She Who Must Be Obeyed wasn’t happy with the noise. The previous vac, an HD bucket head model, was louder than the trim router spindle. This one is far quieter and the router is now minimally acceptable to the powers that be.

On closer inspection mine is a DXV06PL-QT, the one on sale, DXV06PL, is almost the same number but dropped the QT and a couple HP. Michael is right, I missed that when I went to look up the one I have to see if it was still on sale. It was a better sale than I thought. It is kind of odd that the stealth model was less expensive than the, er, less discrete version.

Are there any issues with static disconnect and this vacuum? Did you do any grounding?
I have a with a woven fabric hose that is supposedly anti-static, and I just wanted to check before switching it out.
