My ve carves look dirty down in the carves. Its almost like its not cutting clean. I have adjusted my feedrate faster and slower. Still not cutting clean. Anyone with some advice? I dont think i should have to try and sand every vee carve so when i paint it doesnt look like there is trash down in the carve. Is there a better dir i should be using? I am using a 90 degree from C3D.
Try setting the “depth per pass” so you’re making one deep cut to remove the majority of the material, and final cut to remove and left over, or “fuzzies”. Example: If you’re cutting 0.2" deep then set your “depth per pass” to 0.09". The tool will cut two passes at .09" DOC and .02" for the third. Just my first thought.
Post more info: pictures, material, even C2D file for more specific help.
Thank you!. I was making 2 egual passes. I will give that a try for sure.
Here is an easy trick.
Total Cut depth is .25"
Set your Depth of Cut to .11. You will get 2 passes at .11 and one final pass at .03.
Another Dirty trick.
Total Cut depth is .25.
Set your depth of cut to .125. 2 passes at .125 each.
Then make a second tool path at start at .22 and End at .25, (DOC is .125") but before you run it, spray your piece of wood with some water and let it dry. The water will raise the grain and when you run the second toolpath it will clean up all the little fuzzies etc. I do this for cutting boards. It cuts down on the sanding especailly in the juice grooves.
