Dog Toy Branding Iron with Aluminum and Wood

I made a dog toy “branding iron” out of 6061 aluminum.

This is a two part design

  1. iron (aluminum)
  2. base (wood)

dwg-assembly

Several 1/32" end mills broke during this effort as I iterated on toolpaths and speeds. Ultimately, a forum post encouraged me to .1mm DoC and 12ipm. F&S for the other endmills provided by CarbideCreate.

Cool project, but I’m just as impressed with the collapsible sections in the post. I didn’t know Discourse had that. Well done on both counts!
