New Nomad. During the first project the door popped open twice.
It seems the lock mechanism was installed too far back. I had
to untighten, move it completely forward, and retighten.
It is now flush and does not pop open.

My door did the same. I might adopt your solution. For now, I put a thin magnet on the switch. That disables the safety feature though.
I see quite a few people using binder clips on the side of the wall to stop the door from moving.
