Double sided tape link?

Anyone have a link to the shurtape double sided tape that came in the nomad 3? I bought some on amazon and it was not the same. Found it a bit frustrating that there’s no part number or information in the packaging or on carbide’s website (which is sold out with no other information). Or if you guys have any other double sided tape you recommend, just has to hold well. Thanks in advance!

I have had good luck with 1" XFasten Double Sided Woodworking Tape.

I’m not sure if this makes a difference or not but the bulk of my projects is thin brass. I know the tape that came with the nomad 3 is pretty perfect. Have you used that tape on metal or acrylic before? If so, how does it perform? Thanks a bunch for taking time to respond, I appreciate it.

Here’s a link to shurtape.com

They also have a contact info, so you could check with them on the specifics for what you need.

Hope this is helpful.

I’ve only used it for wood. That said, this stuff is tenacious - it might be too difficult to pull up something like sheet metals without badly bending them.

I am also on the search for a low compressing double sided tape that wont bend too badly. the other option is you can use a jig made from something like parallel faced aluminum to setup with your bit zero and cut from an oversized sheet and tap it for some large head screws to workhold the shimstock.

This is all assuming that the brass is flat and you are using a small diameter cutter the upward forces shouldn’t be enough to deform your workpiece.

I tried several double sided tapes for wood and acrylic. I think the best is the painter’s tape “trick” with one side superglue, the other activator spray, and place it on the wasteboard: the painter’s tape can be removed rather acceptably.

Yeah I engrave bulk loads of items so I wanted something that was just peel and stick and move on. I really like the tape that came with the machine and would be satisfied buying another roll but I can’t find out what it is. Took a stab at buying some shurtape on Amazon and it’s not sticky.

Thank you, I’ll have to give them a buzz tomorrow.

Bought some, I’ll give it a shot. I’ll probably start by adding just smaller amounts. The jig I made has a pry spot that I’ve been using a wood chisel to pop them out. I appreciate the advice.
