Down Cutting Vbits

Hello all,

good morning, where can I find “down cutting V-bits”.

Thanks…

Not sure if such a thing exists. Most V-bits I have seen do not really have a direction which might have something to do with the cutting forces they experience.

Not sure they exist other than in a ball nose bit which is not a true V bit for a V carve operation. I’m sue more folks will chime in if there is.

I’ve never used this cutter before, but it’s advertised as having down-cut geometry.

I have several Groovy Jennys & they work very well.

They are great bits (the whole Jenny line). Cody who runs Cadence MFG is a great guy, I had a small question on speeds and feeds, and he said give him a call. Had a good conversation with him. He is super helpful.
I think the only complaint I have ever heard about the Jenny bits is from my brother, who wants a bigger square tube to store the endmills rather than the skinny round tube Cadence supplies, so he can put the bit name on LARGER (bigger labels for older eyes…I can understand my brother’s point of view  ) He is just trying to find a supply of the square bit tubes that are affordable (and you don’t need to buy them in lots of 10,000.

I looked into it a few years back and found Beckett Packaging sells Grip-Paks in smaller quantities, but at the time, they did not offer all of the bit holder sizes I wanted in the “micro” (10 or 20) quantities, so I didn’t get any, but I did get a few samples, and they are very nice. I will be getting some when I get back around to organizing my bits larger than 0.125" diameter.

EDIT: And the nice thing is if you get the containers with the same ID, you can mix and match the length of the containers, so you don’t have to worry about getting a 3" for your 1/8" bits AND 3" containers for your 1/4" bits. You can get an assortment of lengths and swap them with the specific diameter caps as needed.
