Downloading a 2D silhouette?

Is it very simple to upload a silhouette to carbide motion to have that cut out? What is the process to have it to read a G- file

It depends on the silhouette.

If the silhouette is a vector file format, with sensible paths, then it may be very easily imported into Carbide Create as an SVG (though one may need to wash it through another tool such as Inkscape to get it to an SVG).

If the silhouette is a pixel image, then it will need to be re-drawn / traced — there are a number of tutorials on doing this, here are some for Inkscape:
