Drag chain replacement links

Does anyone know which, if any, of the drag chain options available from Amazon or other sources can be used to provide replacement links for the chains on the 5 Pro?

I (stupidly) broke a bunch of them while installing my new spindle and the support folks are busy fretting about whether the machine is under warranty (it isn’t, and I told them that to start with) and haven’t yet provided an option to buy the needed parts.

Broke the link or just the cover over it?

It may be easier to just buy a whole new chain than try to find a matching link.

I just replaced a couple of mine with larger ones 18x37 I think to accommodate cooling tubing. There are a ton of options out there.
Does the current change have the size stamped on the links?

EDIT: in fact, you are welcome to the 2 I pulled off of my ProXXL if you want them and pay shipping. Knowing UPS it may cost more to ship than to buy new and get free shipping from Amazon but we can check. What are the outside measurements of your links? I can check my chain and see if it is the same.

Thanks, support came through and is mailing me the ones I need (yes, with exorbitant shipping).

I broke the little cross bars on the links that hold the covers down. With luck the new ones will be here in a couple of days and I can proceed with my installation.

I haven’t tried stuffing the cooling lines and cables in the stock chain yet, a larger track may still be in the offing. Looks like it should all fit, though the kinky cooling tubing will present some frustrations I’m sure! I hope that warming it up will relax it.

When I broke a couple of the cross bars I just took them off of the drag chain links which are upside down/not visible…

You were charged $8, but our actual shipping cost is about $20 because it will likely be shipped via UPS.

When the vendor ends up having to cover part of the shipping cost that’s a hint that consolidation has caused market failure in the shipping market… :frowning:

Sorry, I inadvertently implied that the exorbitancy was on the part of the shipper when what I was thinking about was the shipping company – I know the rates are sky high.

But, no one should be paying $20 to ship a small package like that. Check out Shippo; I’ve found them to be a great consolidator for a small business, with rates I can’t touch on my own. A small, light box the size of a flat rate box from the PO will ship CA to MA for $4.67 by USPS, $4.68 by UPS. Or $10 by UPS second day air.

OTOH the links were a lot cheaper than I expected, so maybe it’s just a question of how costs for packing and such are getting distributed-- I well know they have to be paid. If your shipper is actually charging you $20 however, you can do better!

Sorry for the reflexive, unwarranted gripe.
