Dreaded Disconnect

I had the GRBL Unknown Error for the first time ever today. It stopped the spindle and threw the error.

I reinitialized the machine and rezeroed to be on the safe side and then restarted. I bumped the feed rate up and down to get it caught up and then it hit a new spot in the gcode and went on about its way for 10 minutes. Then the gantry just quit moving. There was no error on the screen and the spindle was still going. I hit pause on the CM interface but the spindle still kept spinning.

I ended up killing the power to the spindle and then reinitializing again. And then it was dinner time. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

You could use the Restart program at a line number instead of speeding through to gcode.

No clue as to the errors. Eeeekkk !!!

If only. I am on a Pi and I don’t think that feature has made it to the Pi build yet.

I did an air job this morning and all was good so about to do it for real. If I have issues it may be related to stress on the bit/machine although it did not seem to struggle or lose steps.

I am using the .25” chip breaker compression bit from CIC and the depth of cut is specified as .25” to clear the upcut portion. The cuts look great so far. I am working on a slightly modified version of their Classic Game Set. I will let you know later how it goes.

All good. I will chalk it up to gremlins if it doesn’t happen again.

Still some work to do but all the major cuts are done.

Ignore the junk at the top. Those were tests.

I did not realize that OS is behind the others as far as CM is concerned.

Walnut for material ? Looks awesome.

It is the BamX from CIC Workshop.
