Dual Game Board

I had a customer ask me to make a dual board that has Crokinole on one side and Rummoli on the other side. The board is made of solid walnut and the shuffle board portion of the crokinole game is made of maple veenered plywood.

I used my Shapeoko a fair amount for this one because of the board dimensions being quite large at 31"x 31". First I cut the maple plywood crokinole game surface and filled the lines with resin. Then I glued up the boards and used my CNC to flatten both sides. I then cut out the pockets and adv. v-carved the lettering and symbols for the Rummoli board and cut the entire board into a hexagon. The text and symbols were all epoxy filled.

Final steps were to cut and install the side rails which were glued and nailed on. I finished the walnut in Rubio-Monocoat and then polyurethane over the entire board. I did 3 coats of poly on the game surface, sanding between coats, and finished with 2 layers of hard wax so the discs can slide easily.
