Has anyone tried to connect their Sharpoko to Easel Pro. I went to the Easel site and tried to link both my desk top and my Macbook.air with no success. I am moving over from Easel Pro and I don’t want to lose everything in my past. I have a Sharpoko 5.1 Pro. Thanks in advance.

In the past, doing this has resulted in the Grbl defaults being over-written w/ an X-Carve.
It should just work to have Easel write out a G-code file, then use Carbide Motion to send that to the machine.
That said, why? Carbide Create has been hugely improved since it was first released, and should be able to do pretty much anything, even with the bundled Core:
If there’s something which you are having difficulty doing in Carbide Create, let us know and we can walk through things with you.
Ooops, sorry bout the crazy typo’s, it was a long day with the Shapeoko. I’ll try with Will’s suggestion. Thanks Will!
I’m just trying to find an easy way to get my Easel Pro projects to work on my new Shapeoko Pro.
Is it possible to export them as SVG or DXF files?
Those should open in Carbide Create, then it’s just a matter of re-creating the toolpaths.
Well, thanks again Will. I’ll see if that works.
I have done what Will recommends above…create the drawing in Easel Pro, then either download the g-code or download the ZIP if it’s a multi drawing (what we know as layers) project. My recommendation is pay attention to the g-code from Easel, you will need to have your desired bit already loaded and measured in your router / spindle and be position at X,0 and Y,0 before telling CM to start. It’s totally possible this may be a result of me doing something INCORRECTLY, but I’ve found if I do this “pre-positioning” manually…it just works and I get the cuts I’m looking for…and where I really want them! Using a good file naming convention for your Zips and G-Code files along with clear file directory naming conventions you should be able to transition your projects from Easel over to CC relatively easily. FYI…ncviewer.com is a good place to “test” the G-Code before sending it to CM. Good luck!
A nascent app for this, which does 3D surfaces, is:
Currently, it seems to over-estimate Stock Thickness for Carbide Create files by 3mm — working to get the dev to fix that…
IMHO the way to go is to export the Easel files as SVG.
All fixed! Good catch @WillAdams
