End Mills, Vee bits, etchers and engravers

So the first question will be what do you want to get into… my reply is i dont know.
Everyday i see things i want to make. I have the basic starter pack from cc. Id like to get a better stock so when i get up to something, i have what i need.

  • Better small text (sript)
  • glass etcher (plastics)
(I wont bring up 4th axis)

Maybe something that opens me up to new techniques or a new shinny idea

For etching plastics the best option is the M.C. Etcher:

In addition to the 60 and 90 degree V tooling we sell, we do have a couple of Amana packs which have a 30 degree V endmill such as:

while it’s defined as an engraver in Carbide Create:

I have had good luck defining it as a V endmill:

(but please verify and test the feeds and speeds in the material you are cutting — the tip is quite delicate)

and the other tools I’ve used quite a bit are:

(the Amana #46202-K .25" 2 flute down-cut is quite similar, just with a slightly different tool geometry and nifty coating)

and the 1/8" downcut #46200-K .125" 2 flute down-cut
