Hey everyone, looking for some ideas on how to engrave something on to a axe handle. one of my good friends is graduating from the fire academy and id like to give him his axe (which he will use) but engrave his name in it. i was thinking i cold attach it the handle to a board and then take a straight down picture of it, then import that picture to carbide and put my text vector on it. figured i would be able to set my sizing and pull my X&Y off the board its attached to, and then just set my Z to the height of the handle. would love some feed back if anyone has worked in this kinda thing. thanks!
You could use a laser. Mine (JTECH) has a long focus range, so unless you have too much text it should work. Just align the axe along an axis.
I’ve tested this on a baseball a while back.
