What causes these voids in the etching tool paths? It doesn’t appear to be a low spot on the glass, and everything else etched as expected. The simulation didn’t show this either. Could it be the lack of dust collection?
Also while I have your attention, how can I make the letters filled and not just the outline? Pocket tool path?
Is this right after etching? i.e. it hasn’t been cleaned / brushed off yet?
Perhaps debris is collecting under the bit & preventing it from scoring the glass as much??
I did brush and clean the glass afterwards and before this picture. After a second cleaning it was a little better. I think the issue is some debris under the bit allowing it to slide instead of scratch, but was wanting to run this by some others too.
Is this tempered glass? If so, it may have areas that are harder than others - the tempering process is quite variable.
It’s not, at least it shouldn’t be.
I’m going to looking into some sort of air assist if the dust collection doesn’t work on the next run.
