Seems that one thing you always need to do for good results is to surface your waste board.
It would be nice if Carbide Motion had a tool for this built in rather than everyone having to figure out how to do it manually with whatever software they using to create tool paths.

Doesn’t even have to be a software feature, could just be a standard gcode file per machine with an instruction about zeroing.

It’s a pocket or a contour operation and has the following variables:
machine size/type
bed type (whether or no one has a Hybrid T-track table)
tooling
