Epoxy redwood and pierced cherry

The redwood piece has channels cut with a 1/8 inch bit to a depth of 5 mm. and then they are filled with colored epoxy. Turned on a lathe. The pierced cherry piece was turned and sanded first with a 6 mm deep flange on the outside. The piercing was done with a 1/8" bit and then a 60 degree v-carve. final smoothing with 320 grit and tiny sanding sticks.
