I had similar problems. One thing I found is the Z axis was all the way at the very, very top. I took a small wrench and turned the motor manually to bring the spindle down. The next thing I did was check all of the limit switches on the XYZ. After that, it seemed to be happy.
5.1 Pro…after some virtual troubleshooting, Brandon at Support seems to feel the controller is bad…we did check all the switches, all the wiring is right and tight…just curious to see if this is an issue across the board…ty!
I have been on the forum for 6 years. Very rarely do people have controller failures. They do happen but I cannot remember an SO5 having a bad controller. I know this leaves a sour taste in your mouth after getting a new machine but things will get better once you get rolling.
Thanks for those words of encouragement! By no means do I have a sour taste in my mouth. The quality of this machine, the features, the attention to detail in packaging, labeling all parts and accessories, are off the chain.
That said, and to their credit they acknowledge this, Their documentation in print and online is lagging the product that they’re putting into the field at present. Between now and the time they get that sorted, the forum, YouTube, and a little bit of process of elimination and all is well!
