Error homing shapeko xxl

I have been using my shapeko xxl for over 3 years without any issues. I turned it on to initialize today and received these errors. I tried refreshing settings in the motion software and nothing is working. Please help… know how to run the machine but I’m not very technical.

Thanks!

Power down, unplug the power supply from the controller and the wall and wait 30 minutes or so.

While waiting, reboot your computer and slowly/gently move the machine through the full range of motion for each axis, bring each axis back to the center of motion — does anything mechanically interfere? If you have a Z-Plus or HDZ are the linear rails well-lubricated?

Power up and connect to the machine and go to Settings | Debug — are any homing switches stuck on? Test each homing switch — does each signal as the correct axis?

Try initializing — what does the machine do? Let us know step-by-step. It should:

  • home the Z-axis, lifting it
  • begin moving both X and Y towards the back right corner — when an axis hits a switch it should continue in a straight line
  • at the top, back, right corner it should re-home each axis

Thanks for the quick response! I will go through all of these steps when I am in the shop tomorrow and see how it goes.

The machine is blown out and well greased. I have full motion front back and side to side. When I initialize it just hums and doesn’t move and then I get the errors.

In my settings in carbide motion I do not see a Debug option.

Thanks for your help.

Which version of Carbide Motion are you using?

Please try the beta:

Build 582 I was just using it not long ago and running fine.

I had a weird thing happen one time. The cap that covers the plug on top of the spindle popped out and got stuck keeping the spindle from going all the way up and not allowing the CNC to initialize. Long shot but maybe (?)
