Error with 3D Shape

I am having a problem with one area of a 3D model I am trying to create. I am trying to get the lake at the bottom right (blue outline) to sit just below the terrain (about 2-3mm) so that I can put a thin layer of epoxy in there. I am using the EQUAL merge and starting it at a base height of 3.5 inches and then just adding about .1 inches to it (none of the other merge options seem to get me an even shallow bowl).

All the other water sections (blue outlines) work fine with this, but this lake just ends up building a mound in the 3D model instead.

Any help in identifying the problem would be greatly appreciated.

What source file was uploaded to make this model?

Upload that as well?

[EDIT] I misunderstood what you were saying earlier. This is the topo image I used for the 3D template

The model looks correct in that area, based on your description

You are showing the toolpath simulation, and the toolpath doesn’t cut in that area. Don’t include that boundary in the toolpath & it should do what you want.

It looks like you may want just the outside boundary for the 3D paths, or the outside and the 8 raised areas if you want to leave those workpiece height

Good grief, that was driving me mad! You are a life saver! Just deselecting that area, as you said.

Thank you!
