Hi group,
I want to exchange CC files between my 2 computers. I am using Google Drive and it is ok but I do have OneDrive and it is not working. When I open the file from OneDrive, it look corrupted and CC refuse to open it. I think the problem is happening when I save the file.
I just use a flash drive and have no troubles between my newer and older computers.
Another route to try is emailing the c2d file to yourself. They are usually small enough to email without much trouble.
Please post the file here, twice, once from each end (upload/download) so that we can compare the twain.
Do you have the same version of Carbide Create on both computers? Also if there is text in the file do both have the same fonts installed? As @WillAdams said, post the file from both computers and someone may be able to figure out the issue.
If your computers are physically close set up a local network. This will bypass any external issues.
In fact, I do have the problem when I use only one computer also.
1- Original File and an image from the file on Google Drive :
Videpoche meilleur maman.c2d (240 KB)
2- File that I save to Onedrive. I know that If I copy it on C:, it will open correctly
Vide poche when saved to OneDrive.c2d (240 KB)
3- Here how it looks when I open it from OneDrive. Just saw that iti in inch and not in milimeter anymore
4- File after saving it :
Vide poche when opened from OneDrive.c2d (44 KB)
It look like it is loosing the Job Setup
What is the complete filepath after upload? The complete URL/path which is being used to access?
The file opens fine here:
but if I put it in a folder which has a non-ASCII character:
“C:\Users\willa\OneDrive\Desktop\Ç\Vide poche when saved to OneDrive.c2d”
I get the message:
when I try to open it and a similarly blank file.
We have this down as a reported bug which we have been able to replicate, but it may be that it is a consequence of the programming toolkit which we are using (I supposed I should check on my Mac to see if it’s specific to Windows).
Bingo, You got it. My folders name have French accent. I removed them and I don’t have the problem anymore.
Thank you very much
I use Google Drive in my network and have had no problems. Is there a benefit using Microsoft drive, the less I have to do with Microsoft the better.
The only benefit is the space. I have only 15 GB on google Drive but I have 1 To on Onedrive since I have a Office 365 account
Is giving your soul to Google any better than Microsoft? Or do you just prefer a little souls here and a little there to keep anyone from reassembling it?
It’s a personal thing that goes back a long way and simply said Bill Gates sucks along with Microsoft. I have used Google Drive since its introduction. Yes I still use windows and office do to the cost of managing and updating 3 computers. I have no idea what you are trying to say?
I am just trying to be slightly humorous and say that all the big soulless tech companies suck in their own ways.
I use gmail, office, One Drive, gmail, google maps, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch Fire TV, Amazon Music and Alexa so they all have a piece of me.
