Currently the only way to get a vector to carve along the 3D object is to import the vector in the Model section and then use the Merge Type to either add or subtract the vector. The other option is to 3D model your object with the feature implemented. Unfortunately this does not work well with fine details such as carving streets long a 3d surface.
Vectric has the feature “Project Toolpath onto 3D Model” which allows you to not only use a regular contour toolpath along a vector but also a open vector. I would like to request Carbide Implement this feature into the Carbide Create Pro software package.
When you 3d model the feature like a road or just simply lines it’s much better to cut along the line rather than the back and forth at whatever angle set when doing a 3d finish pass. You can also set depth more accurately.
