Carbide Create is not a very intuitive software for creating geometry. A couple software features that would make it incredibly more useful would be:
1 - The ability to trim any intersecting lines. As of now, you cannot trim to separate lines that intersect.
2 - The ability to draw a three-point arc. This is a feature in every CAD program I have ever used and an extreme limfac when it comes to drawing in carbide create
3 - The ability to hold the shift line and have the lines snap at common angles. Such as 90* / 45* / 15* etc
Adding just these three capabilities immensely increases the drawing ability of carbide create. It’s borderline un-useable as of now. The software developers should download and try the OMAX layout software. It’s arguably the easiest and most intuitive CAD software I have ever used. In fact I’ll be using it in place of Create until these basic features are added.
I’d add another vote for #2 (3-point arc). While the workaround MAY work, it isn’t what is desired. If one wanted one arc, why go about it in such a roundabout way? Also, the workaround assumes one wants a 90 degree arc, while a 3-point arc gives one the ability to define any angle for the arc.
Another vote for #3 from me. And while we on the subject of snapping, I wish all the snapping operations would work on intersections of other geometries, its nearly impossible to align objects the way it is (cumbersome due to another request: don’t change layer when grouping objects)
Yes, their CAD program is easily the most intuitive drawing software I’ve ever used. It had every feature you need and everything works extremely efficiently
