Feeds and Speeds (F/S) for purpleheart and padauk

planning to make small boxes from padauk and purpleheart.
Do not want to burn such high in oil woods, so please share your experience with F/S when cutting them.

I am using SO5 Pro with Carbide VFD Spindle.
Planning to use 0.25 end mill and 30 degrees V-bit.

For purpleheart, I stuck with the conservative speeds listed in the default tool database in the design. I was able to increase speed with the Motion override to about 120% and experienced no burning problems.

I do a fair amount of padauk on my 5PRO with spindle. With the 0.25" end mill I will use a step over of 0.125" and a feed rate of 90. For depth of cut I’ll use 0.125" as a starting point, but adjust so my last cut is somewhere around .05". I use the cadence manufacturing 30 degree down shear bit. I start with a DOC of 0.06", and will adjust so the last cut is around 0.02" or less. For feed rate I used to go 65 IPM, but have found that 45 IPM is a far cleaner cut with minimal clean up.

I will say that purpleheart is hard as heck! be very careful with your feed rate using the 30 degree V. I’ve had a couple Amana 30deg V’s “explode” while cutting purple heart using the default F/S. It’s also prone to chip out. I will say that I haven’t ever noticed any problems with it burning so long as your endmills are good and sharp.

I haven’t machined Paduk so I cant speak to that…

Thanks all for the advices. Will try default settings and go from there.
