I have made a 3 minute video to show what is happening. I use Microsoft OneDrive cloud storage between my different laptops (there are only 2 laptops in the video but I’m an IT guy so there’s several in the house :-).
Anyway, when I open a carbide create file on my larger laptop (16" HP), the logo renders (and cuts correctly where the side curved vectors do NOT touch the letters)…here is a pic (will link video from smaller laptop - yes this will be a 2 entry topic to get the story)
see how the side vectors are now either touching the letters or further away from the letters (on the left).
Uh, that shouldn’t happen. Yes using same build on both computers. The only difference is one is a 1920x1200 display and the other is 1920x1080 display but that should not ruin the carbide creation (see what I did there).
Still a new guy (just assembled machine last Thursday).
Any tips, pointers, thoughts, appreciated…
Oh and here’s that video as promised so you can see it “live”. (Link should work now, was still uploading/processing while typing). Thanks again for anything.
I said I was NEW - WOW! DUH!!! Maybe I shouldn’t admit I’ve worked in IT for over 30 years. Does it help if I mention I was COBOL programmer on mainframes before moving in IT leadership many years ago This is why they don’t let me touch the keyboard anymore. SORRY VERY MUCH!
Nothing to be sorry for — as a person who has worked in graphic design since the pasteup days, I’ve seen missing font and font version issues affect more projects than I could begin to count.
No worries, Mark. I started on COBOL, Fortran IV & Pascal, and programmed my first NC machine with a paper tape. And I still make silly mistakes too. PEBCAK
Now if I’m transferring a program with text, I copy the “Text” object off to the side, and convert the text on the job to curves.
