Files not printing - offline

Friends, I’m struggling to find what I’m doing wrong. I’m brand new and using 30-day trial of Carbide Create 3D. When I save my file as a G-Code, I can see it on the offline device. I actually often see 2 files named the same. But when I send either to print, nothing happens on the machine. The display will sometimes go through 0-100%, or another one gets stuck at 10%. But again the machine doesn’t move. However, when I select the files that came with the Gemitsu 3020’s SIM card they seem to work fine.

I’ve even uploaded other Carbide Create files from forums, saved them as G-Code (didn’t alter any of the settings) and they don’t work.

What am I doing wrong?

I got this machine to surprise my wife with being able to make her company nametags for the restaurant. Was going to be a Christmas gift, but I’m stuck y’all. Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention. I’m on a Mac. :frowning:

Could it be that you are copying over the metadata and then selecting that?

Usually it’s a . (dot) file.

Select and file on the Mac and “Get Info”, then do the same thing to the copied file — is everything reasonably equivalent?

For writing out G-code it may help to review:

Thanks for the quick response. they look almost identical.

Def checking this out now. Thank you.

I would imagine using a file that someone provides as a template would work when I try and sent it; however, that didn’t seem to be the case.

So Will, it seems like you should be able to send me a file that I can import, and use on my machine correct?

The file seems fine:

Permissions issue?

Maybe try copying one of the sample files, renaming it, then over-writing it with one of your own?

Honestly think something is wrong with the machine now. I can get the spindle to spin, but nothing when trying to get it to move XYZ. I turns on off. Even swapped out the head and tried a different motor. Same thing. Ugh.

That is something for you to take up with the manufacturer of your machine.
