Filling gaps between parts - pine

I am assembling my pine 3D carved parts and I have seams.

These are from a 3/4 round bit leaving a lip, wood taking it’s own shape ( I did seal them with sanding sealer), not milling two sides of the stock (7.38 - 7.5 wide, pine was milled previously) and a lack of experience on my part.

I will have to sand a bit for the mating flats.

I have the Pine wood chips and sawdust from my band saw.
I have made an emulsion of wood and glue, but does not finish well.

I was going to use shellac or urethane, I am thinking shellac.

Suggestions ? Thanks !

You could use a wood filler. There are many brands out there and they all have lots of colors to choose from.
I have used Minwax many times, Take a sample of your material and go to a big box store and try to match it up. If you don’t have any luck at the store due to lack of inventory you could find it on Amazon .

Minwax 448520000 Color-Matched Filler Wood Putty, Natural 6 oz

Try it on a scrap material and see what the finish looks like before you put it on your project.

Thanks for the thought !

I am going to use the sawdust/chips as the filler. That way there should be minor color difference.
I was more interested in the liquid to mix it with. Glue shows up, so I figured shellac should be a good binder.
