Flattening Spiral Shapes to cut on CNC

As I wait to order a Shapeoko Pro XXL I’m learning how to use some software to design stuff. Pretty sure early projects will be to sort out proper dust collection (enclosure, cyclone/dust separator, etc…). Looking at the Bill Pentz design cyclones and drew one up in Fusion 360 and flattening out the cylinder and cone shapes I’ll be able to handle that. I’m thinking I’d be able to groove a path for the spiral in the outer/inner cylinder material to hold the shape in place better. However anyone have experience with spiral shapes and best approach to fabricate this part?

As you’re using fusion I’d suggest taking a look at the sheet metal workspace, see the Lars videos here

You can ‘unwrap’ sheet metal shapes to then cut them flat.

I won’t pretend it’s easy the first few times but work along with Lars’ videos and you should get the hang of it.
