You can try to continue with the table you have, or you can build on top of it.
I think your current method has play at the threads and could be improved if you use a shoulder bolt, heres a post as reference;
You can use the Channel of the Vise, or you can re-create the Center-line with a custom jig.
Thats how the Lego Bricks were made:
If your not using the Flip Frame you will need to Rapid to the middle of the table and create you own centerline location.
2 Perfect holes are better than 4 that allow movement.
Notice in the Lego video it is difficult to remove the pins, they need to be that tight.
Any play in the system will be magnified by 2x.
